September 28 through October 2 is Homecoming Week at LHS! The theme
for the week is Rivalries, inspired by the football game on Friday
against our rivals, the Pipestone Arrows.

The week will kick off Monday at school with a dress-up theme of
"Night In vs. Night Out." Girls tennis will travel to Worthington
after school for a match against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Monday
night, Coronation will be held in the Performing Arts Center at 7:00
p.m. The king candidates this year are Asher Barron, Mathew Gangstead,
Ben Hartquist, Coy Thone and Jackson VanMaanen. The queen candidates
are Macie Edstrom, Izzy Steensma, Kassidy Saarloos, Olivia VerSteeg
and Khloe Visker. Following Coronation, the junior and senior girls
will participate in Powder Puff football on the football field. Then,
the boys will take each other on in a game of dodgeball in the Classic
Gym.

On Tuesday, students will dress in their best "Soccer Mom vs. BBQ Dad"
outfits. The volleyball team will travel to Jackson to take on the
Huskies at 7:15 p.m.

The fun continues on Wednesday with a theme of "Hollywood vs.
Dollywood." This theme will feature Hollywood glam vs. country/western
attire.

"Dynamic Duo vs. Squad" will be the dress-up theme for Thursday. The
senior class will also wear togas to school! The boys and girls cross
country teams are headed to Redwood Falls to compete. They will begin
running at 4:30 p.m. The girls tennis team also has a match Thursday.
They will battle it out against Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on our home
court.

Friday will be a day filled with fun activities. Students are
encouraged to wear their best red and white spirit gear. The day will
start off with the ABC (Anything But a Car) Day parade, where students
will gather in front of the school to watch a parade of unique
vehicles. At 2:30 p.m., LHS students will gather in the gym for the
annual Homecoming Pepfest. At 4:00 p.m., we will honor the new Hall of
Fame inductees in the PAC. At 7:00 p.m., it will be game time for the
football team on Cardinal Field. The Cardinals will take on their
rivals, the Pipestone Arrows, and the teams will fight for the Battle
Axe.

Following the football game, the Homecoming Dance will be hosted in
the high school/middle school commons. Tickets to the dance are $8 at
the door, and it is open to all high school students.

LHS is looking forward to a great Homecoming Week!
