On Monday, November 17, the Luverne Chapter held its annual National Honor Society induction ceremony.
The ceremony was led by senior NHS members Anna Banck, Hannah Kempema, Julia Beyer, Hannah Woodley, and Zander Carbonneau.
Six seniors and nine juniors were inducted into the National Honor Society.
The senior inductees were Connor Bose, Jenna Bullerman, Tyler Hodge, Jaydon Johnson, Adelyn Rodriguez, and Ella Schmuck.
The junior inductees were Asher Barron, Macie Edstrom, Benjamin Hartquist, Rylee Kurtz, Olivia Lund, Lucas Madison, Charles Mostad, Kassidy Saarloos, and Isabella Steensma.
Students are selected by the faculty based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
Each candidate selected one teacher who has significantly impacted their educational journey and received a pin presented by their chosen teacher.
Guest speaker Knute Oldre, LHS Class of 2017, addressed the candidates, emphasizing the importance of each pillar and encouraging students to use their strengths to support their hometown in the future.
