As a native South Dakotan, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Dakota State College in Madison, SD. My first teaching assignment was fourth grade in the Magnolia, MN School District. After remaining at home when my daughters were little, I returned to substituting and teaching in area schools. In 1992, I began my employment with the Luverne School District teaching 6th, 5th and currently 3rd grades. In 1998, I received my Master’s Degree in Education from SMSU in Marshall, MN.

I am married to husband Jerry who is the Luverne High School Biology teacher. We have two grown daughters, one teaching and residing in Tuczon, Arizona. The other daughter is married and a pharmaceutical marketing consultant in Easton, PA.

My spare time activities include camping, canoeing, reading, gardening and tending to my perennial flower beds.
